The American Numismatic Association’s Money Museum in Colorado Springs, Colorado attracts thousands of families and children each year to its popular Kids Zone. To create more inspiring learning experiences, museums are turning to “smart” technology tools that enable more interactive educational experiences to help leverage content.
These tools can expand the Museum’s ability to offer games, videos and activities curated especially for young visitors and families. The interactive touch screen would be used during structured Kids Zone activities and independently by museum patrons during public hours. (Interactive touch screens are in use in classrooms across the country, and many school children are already familiar with how to use them.)
The ANA has the potential to receive a matching grant to use towards obtaining and installing this technology in the Money Museum. However, donor funds must be received by Monday, October 25 to qualify. Our goal is to raise $10,000 in less than 30 days.
To contribute, click on the link below, call 800-514-2646 or mail a check (to arrive by October 25) to: ANA Museum Fund, 818 N. Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.

On Monday evening, March 29, 2021, Stand Levinson, former President of the SBCC and our Scout Outreach Volunteer, conducted a local outreach to Scout Pack 720 in Viera, Florida. It was very well attended with 25 boys and girls and their troop leaders. Stan visited with all of the scouts and introduced them to the coin collecting hobby. They were very excited and Stan did a wonderful job as he has so many times before with the scouts. Jim Nuara, current SBCC President, and Bob Mellor, ANA Florida District Representative were also there in support along with Janet. Our thanks to several of our Club members who donated items for each attendee along with items from the American Numismatic Association and Whitman Publishing. Indian Head cents, Buffalo nickels and Eisenhower dollars along with magazines, books and coin albums and many other items were given out.
Although we truly missed our President Mr. Jim Nuera to personal time conflict, our VP Mr. Mike Smith stepped up and ran business as usual.
